The movie And The Band Played On was very interesting. I think it highlights a problem with our government. The government has no faith in the people. They want to control what information we are allowed to know because they don't believe we can handle it. In the movie it is said that the government didn't want to let the people know that AIDS was a sexual transmitted dieseas because they didn't want to cause the public to panic. However isn't it the right of the people to know. Don't we have the right to panic if we feel we need to. This is how the government worked back in the 70's and 80's and continues to work today. They want to control the information on every subject they can. They don't trust us with, it's no wonder we don't trust them.

  1. I really liked this movie. It really was well acted out. It crazy how the government reacted to the disease and how they handled it.

  2. The way the government handled the AIDS virus was a little bit questionable. Alot of those guys are all about themselves and didnt want to get crap if they were wrong.

  3. I agree with you when you say that it is the right of the people to know what is going on. I thought it was wrong when they kept it from them.

  4. Good ole government! They just want to seem as pure as possible which is not possible so i wish they would just tell the truth and be blunt for a change and maybe things can change faster due to the quicker pace of information getting out.
